Brian Lee: Tie Dye Galaxy

Coming from an Eastern background with little to no knowledge about the counterculture of the 1960s, every detail about the music, fashion and hippie culture of the period dazzled me. Out of all the subjects I could explore on, I found tie-dyeing the most interesting. Other than the resist dyeing technique, I am also interesting in digital printed, galaxy theme garments from the contemporary fashion. My art project is to combine both tie-dying techniques and bleaching to generate two fantasized galaxy imageries with swirl patterns on Muslin fabrics.
